IIT being a nationally renowned name has added another feather into its hat of achievements. A team of IIT Bombay students have done it!
Wanna know in detail? Read below:
IIT-Bombay recently had something to brag about and why not? A group of students lead by Varun Mittal (team leader) built an AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) which won the 2nd prize in the Robosub competition held from July 27 to 31 in San Diego, California.
The Matsya, AUV, was adjudged the best by an Asian team in the competition (another reason why IIT-B becomes the coolest!).
The team comprising of 26 members, beat the six time winner Cornell University, but lost by a small margin to the California Institute of Technology.
The total of 45 teams were judged on the basis of innovation, design and performance in obstaclecourses. Sounds difficult enough right? AUV had to perform these tasks without any intervention by the teams.
The Matsya was the only one to attempt to perform all bar one tasks, it smoothly sailed through the semifinals into the finals where it secured the 2nd position.
And all we can say is THREE CHEERS TO THE TEAM for bringing such a great prize to India.
