It is not the first time that people are getting caught for consuming liquor in a dry state, posing validity of prohibition in question, once again.

26 students of National Institute of Design (NID), were arrested last Saturday in connection with a liquor party in Ahmedabad. The police conducted the raid early morning following the complaint received of a liquor party being organised in Paldi.

Despite, absolute bans having failed at several times, these provisions of 1960 are still valid today. And there have been deaths from home-made liquor as a substitute to this. State government continues to lose the revenue from this industry, as alcohol being bad, could have attracted many duties.

Not to forget, Gujarat is one of the safest states, and a low crime rate backs this. Something to do with this prohibition, may be!

While students in Delhi consume and enjoy all kinds of alcohol freely, it seems weird to us to hear news like this.

But when you are born in a dry state, you can’t do much mate! Tag your mates to let them know how lucky they are!
