The rat race to get admission in a good college has begun and when the cutoff is touching the sky limits. It seems impossible to get admission in a college of your choice.

Within a few months of admission into an off-campus college. One is easily able to make out how different college life is from that of an on-campus to an off-campus college.

If it is an off campus college many things will change and affect on your life like not having good pocket- friendly food joints, non-participation in the student union or elections, lower brand value, missing out on major events, etc. here are some of the drawbacks which definitely need to be worked upon:

1) LOWER BRAND VALUE:

When you have an off campus college. There are more chances that many of the people haven’t heard of your college and you will hear it a lot of times “Ye college kaha hai?”. Hence low popularity and brand value.

2) FOOD:

If you are a gourmet, but need pocket friendly prices, then you won’t find many places near off campus colleges. You will have to depend on the local market of that area.

3) ELECTIONS:

Most of the off campus colleges do not take part in college elections, as in DUSU election. So if you want to take active participation in college election or to get involved early in politics. Then buddy off-campus college is not for you.

Most of the movements in off-campus college do not reach others, hence no support from other colleges and they die soon.

3) LOW MEDIA COVERAGE:

Off campus college generally don’t get much media coverage- the events, movements, societies, and problems, etc.

5) NOTES, BOOKS AND LIBRARIES:

The notes, readings and other study material are available in the university libraries. So, either bribe a friend from an on-campus college to get these for you, or toil hard to get these yourself.

6) COLLEGE SOCITIES DO NOT GET THE REQUIRED EXPOSURE:

If you are in a society, then these societies do not get the required exposure, which means no competition, you don’t get to see the performances from other colleges and all.

7) COLLECTIVE EVENTS:

You will have to travel an extra mile to attend many collective events like Antardwani and fests like Mecca (Hindu college), Renaissance(Kirori Mal College), Nexus (Sri Venkateswara College), and many others.

8) NOT ENOUGH FUNDS:

The colleges in main campus are almost never short on funds, thanks to UGC. Whereas off campus colleges have to work out hard to collect funds and have to find other ways to get funds other than just depending on UGC for fests and all. But don’t be upset. Being in an Off-campus college is awesome because you

will be involved in lesser college politics, these colleges offer specialized courses and there are many other perks too. Off-campus or On-campus college. It doesn’t matter in the end because at last in college life you will make friends for life. Explore yourself, and become a different person!
