Richa Chadda has repeatedly garnered accolades through her consistent portrayal of unconventional characters in what is often sighted as off beat cinema. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from St. Stephen’s College. She was awarded the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for the movie Gangs of Wasseypur. Beauty, talent and brains eh!
NAINA LAL KIDWAI:
Naina Lal Kidwai is an Indian banker, Chartered Accountant and business executive. She is currently the Group General Manager and Country Head of HSBC India. She is also a former President of the Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Kidwai holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lady Shree Ram College. And this is why LSR is life goals for some!
Brinda Karat is a communist politician from India, elected to the Rajya Sabha as a CPI member. She has also been the general secretary of the All India Democratic Women’s Association, and thereafter it’s Vice President. She has acquired her B.A. Degree from Miranda House. All hail DU!
Barkha Dutt is an Indian television journalist and columnist. She works as a consulting editor with NDTV. Dutt gained prominence for her reportage of the Kargil War.
She has won many national and international awards, including the Padma Shri. She graduated from St.Stephen’s College with a degree in English Literature. So, this is how awesomeness is made?
Aruna Roy is an Indian political and social activist who founded the Mazdoor Kisaan Shakti Sangathan .She studied English Literature at Indraprastha College. A woman dedicated to a cause indeed.
Anita Mazumdar Desai is an Indian Novelist and the Emerita John E. Burchard Professor of Humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
As a writer she has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize three times ; she received a Sahitya Academy Award in 1978 for her novel ‘’Fire on the Mountain”. She received her B.A. in English Literature from Miranda House. What’s it with English and greatness!
Arundhati Virmani is an Indian historian. She teaches at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Marseille. She graduated in a degree in History from Indraprastha College. We are proud of you ma’am!
Urvashi Butalia is an Indian feminist and publisher. Along with Ritu Menon, she co-founded “Kali” for Women, India‘s first exclusively feminist publishing house. She is also the founder of Zubaan Books. Butalia earned a B.A. in Literature from Miranda House. And the saga continues!
Huma Saleem Qureshi is an Indian film actress and model, who has received three Film fare award nominations. Qureshi obtained a bachelor’s degree in History Honours from Gargi College. We love you btw!
Shovana Narayan is best known as one of the best Kathak danseuses in the world. She performs in India and around the world, and has been awarded the Padma Shri.
Narayan studied at Miranda House, graduating with a Master’s degree in Physics. Science and dancing can go hand in hand!
